Virginia "Jenny" Elswick Rogers

ROGERS, Virginia “Jenny” Elswick Rogers, 78, beloved wife of Billy J. Rogers went to her glory Monday, May 11, 2009. Jenny was born December 14, 1930 in Elkhorn City, KY and moved to Jacksonville in 1958. She was predeceased by her parents Landen and Jettie Lee Wallace Elswick; a brother, Ray Elswick; a sister-in-law, Arlene Elswick; a sister-in-law, Mona Mae Ratliff; a brother-in-law Bob Rogers and a brother-in-law, Buddy Rogers. Jenny was a very energetic, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister; a talented seamstress and active congregant of Highland’s United Methodist Church. She will be sadly missed by those she leaves behind: her husband of 58 years, Billy J. Rogers of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Janalee R. Scott of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL; grandchildren, Laura M. Scott of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and David R. Scott of Jacksonville, FL; and a great grandson, Landen T. Scott of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by a brother, Joseph and wife Mary Elswick of Elkhorn City, KY; a sister, Bee and husband Ernest Mullins of Elkhorn City, KY; a sister, Jeanette Elswick of Elkhorn City, KY; a brother, Landen Elswick, Jr. of Columbus, OH; a sister-in-law, Joan Elswick of Jacksonville, FL; a sister-in-law, Thelma and husband Earl Bartley of Elkhorn City, KY; a brother-in-law, Paul Rogers of Haysi, VA and a sister-in-law Betty Rogers of Columbus, OH; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. Funeral arrangements by COREY-KERLIN FUNERAL HOME , 1426 Rowe Ave., Jacksonville, FL and BAILEY FUNERAL HOME in Elkhorn City, KY. Interment will be in Annie Young Cemetery in Pikeville, KY.
