Virginia Flynn Moody passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 5th while a resident at Westminster Woods. June, as she was fondly known as by family and friends was a native of Jacksonville, FL. Born February 16, 1925, she was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. Her smile, friendliness, and contagious laugh will be missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion “Lester” and Hazel Flynn; her husband, Walter L. Moody; her son, Walter “Lynn” Moody Jr.; and her grandson, Brian B. Long Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Long (Brian) of Jacksonville; her 3 grandchildren, John F. Long (Darlene) of Norfolk, VA; Walter L. Long (Sheri) and Scott A. Long all of Jacksonville; her 4 great-grandchildren, Alyson Long of Norfolk, VA; Flynn Long, Baillie Long, and Reagan Long, all of Jacksonville; and her special cousin, Ray Collins (Maria) of Cooper City, FL. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, May 10th at 10:00 am at Oaklawn Cemetery, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville. Memorial donations may be made in memory of June to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
