

Virginia Q. Smith, 83, passed away in Jacksonville on December 23, 2021 after a prolonged battle with kidney disease and a brief hospital stay. She was born in Easton, PA to parents Robert and Margaret Quick. She moved to Jacksonville in the 1950s, and married and raised her family there. She was an avid bowler for many years, participating in countless leagues and tournaments. She enjoyed playing online word games with friends, putting together jigsaw puzzles, in earlier years camping with her family, and later in life taking trips with seniors travel groups and attending the Railroad Retirees gatherings. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at the monthly family luncheon.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of more than 50 years, William “Billy” Smith, her infant twin sister Margaret, parents Robert and Margaret Quick, brother James Quick, and cherished grandson and best buddy Rush Smith. She is survived by her son Michael Smith, daughter Michele Smith, and daughter-in law Deborah Smith. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jenifer Terrizzi (Charles), Amanda Tingle (Troy), Thomas Smith (Emily), Will Smith (Hannah), Gracie Smith, Robert Smith, Margaret Smith, Charles Smith and Rosemary Smith, and also 26 great grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Robert Quick (Karen), nephew Erik Quick (Elina), niece Renee Hardiman (John) and many friends and extended family.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Donna Foundation.
A visitation for Virginia will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM, Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
