Walter E Anderson

Walter Earl Anderson, 93, died May 16th 2016 at Bailey Family Center in St. Augustine, FL. Walter was born in Tennessee, IL and raised on a farm in Plymouth, IL. He lived most of his adult life in Atlanta, GA and moved to St. Augustine, FL in 2007 from Tallahassee, FL. Walter graduated Bradley University in 1949. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is a member of St. Augustine Shores United Methodist Church. Walter served in the US Navy as a member of the Silent Service. He was in WWII as a Submariner on USS Dace. He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Gwendolyn Baker Anderson; parents, Guy Martin Anderson and Blanche Neva Anderson and brothers, Max Anderson and Wayne Anderson.He is survived by his wife of 11 years, Virginia Kendell; daughter, Donna Bensko; grandchildren, Nicole Sundermier, Lindsay Bensko, and Kimberly Mullarkey and great-grandchildren Cayden Sundermier, Alexander Mullarkey, and Mila Sundermier. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am with Visitation one hour prior to service on Friday, May 20, in St. Augustine Shores United Methodist Church, 724 Shores Blvd, St Augustine, FL 32086. Interment will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, May 21 in MeadowWood Memorial Park, 700 Timberlane Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32312.
