I just found out about Mina today. I first met her and her parents when I moved to the neighborhood in 1980. I always found her inspiring as she dealt with the challenges put to her. We will meet again someday.

I met Mina in 1992 after my mother died of pancreatic cancer under Hospice care. I was 29 and devastated! Mina was there as my grief counselor to lead me through the worst part of my life. With her help I not only made it, I learned to live with happiness and purpose. I don't know how I would have gotten through that time without her! Please know that she will always be a part of my life, she was there for me when I needed her the most. I'll never forget the gift she provided to me and my family!

Ohhhh Precious Mina, my dear, dear friend of 20+ years. I'm going to talk here just being ME, Sandy, because anything less than just being ME,  isn't THE authentic ME, you've known and loved for so many of our years together as friends. So, my 1st decision as ME, is to cut right to the chase by saying "DITTOOOOOOOOO" to half or more OF ONLY NICE THINGS that's already been said. Took care of that one real quick like didn't I? huh?  ... and may I add? Uhhh ... that's actually not a question although it appears to be one.. (it's just polite to ask but I'm going to add it anyway) hehe ... my *one of a kind* goofy, playful, giving, independent, stubborn at times when need be, UNSELFISH to the bone and also to a fault at times, lover of and helper of people. A SMILE that's like a healing balm to some of the recipients due to not understanding how and what in the world you could possibly have to smile about, and if they only knew!!!... and many times you've made sure of that one too. But, this can NOT end until this one issue is brought up and cleared up. I don't know if they have cars or vans in Heaven but I'm certain if they do, you'll be a very safe driver because there are no accidents in Heaven. BUT, while down here girl, I remember coming close to jumping out as you took the turn at OP Mall scaring me half to death and I HAD 3 KIDS TO RAISE and that's just one of MANY examples! Needless to say, we started spending more time at each others houses than eating the delicious meals that are served at Outback, Carrabass, The Chart House, those places and so many more I was deprived from eating at due to, "how were we gonna get it girl? It wasn't goin to be cuz you drove and I was too unsure of putting that van seat with all of that special stuff everywhere and driving like you wanted me to. So,I reckon the bottom line is this. You have until I get there to find us some food that tastes close or exactly as the ones we started missing out of having anymore so my kids could actually grow up with a Mama. All playing aside now, I sure do love you and am going to miss you immensely Mina. To all of Mina's family, I'm praying for you because although she struggled so much and for so long, she was yours and you love her and she you more than words can express. I know because I remember her telling me and often. ~Sandy McLean

I first knew Mina as a student in my classes at UNF and later as a professional colleague.  She always was a beautiful, warm and inspirational light to everyone she knew and she will be missed.

Many thoughts and prayers to all of Mina's family and friends. I had the pleasure of being one of Mina's Respiratory Therapist (formerly with LifeLine Home Care). Mina always had a smile on her face, and put a smile on mine. She always made me remember that when I was feeling overwhelmed, that my day was a breeze considering. I so wish now all those times when I was near her side of town and I would think.... I need to stop and see Mina.... that I had done it. You just never know... stop and smell the flowers when you see them. Mina was a beautiful flower!

Our lives only crossed for a brief time, but it was a privilege and a joy to have known Mina.

I have been blessed to know Mina and call her my friend.  She was a wonderful Christian lady who loved Jesus Christ with all her heart, and led her life as a witness for him.  No matter, the trials and tribulations she went through.  She always had a beautiful smile on her face. Mina you are in heaven now, walking on the streets of gold and with our heavenly father. I will miss you, but I know I will see you again my friend.

I knew Mina from our childhood and early teenage years at Hollybrook Babtist Church.  We lost contact over the years.  She was a wonderful woman and an awesome christian. I have been so blessed by having Mina in my life.  I will see you soon, Mina.  We will walk in the field of flowers and play with butterflies. Thank you for being the best friend a person could ever have.  I will truly miss your smile and determination to face every day with grace.

So saddened by this news. I worked with Mina for a few years 10 or so years back. A real joy to be around; what a great spirit! She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.

I've been so very blessed to have known such a wonderful lady. She taught me a lot. I always knew she was an angel. Now she has her wings. Mina is walking through the gardens and dancing with angels.  She had one of the brightest, most beautiful smiles!!! What a truly wonderful, outstanding, amazing woman. She will be forever in my heart and will be missed greatly by everyone.
