

Willard served his country with distinction in the United States Navy for nine years, achieving the rank of DP1 and receiving a Good Conduct Award along with an Honorable Discharge. After his military service, he pursued higher education and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of North Florida. His professional career as a Computer Specialist (NARDAC) at NAS Jacksonville spanned 37 years until his retirement in 2001.
He married Latricia Martin on September 2, 1988, and together they shared a life filled with travel and adventure. Willard enjoyed visiting various places with his wife, stopping at different casinos, and spending time with his daughter, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He found joy in cruising with family and working on their farmhouse in Kentucky. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on the lanai, watching the geese land on the lake. He also had a passion for attending old car shows and loved watching college basketball and professional football.
Willard was an active member of his community, attending Christ Church and enjoying the teachings of Charles Stanley and Joel Osteen.
He is survived by his wife, Latricia Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Chris Gabbert; son, Brian Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Kolette and Tim Jackson; son, Brent Martin; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Wayne Warner; half-brothers, Douglas Martin, Steven Martin, Stanley Martin, Cory Martin, and Ward Martin; half-sister, Kathleen Martin; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Willard was preceded in death by his father and mother, Willard Martin, Sr. and Virginia Ryder; brothers, David Martin and Steve Martin; and half-sister, Pauline Mabel.
A visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, located at 11801 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223, on November 14, 2025, from 8:30 am to 9:00 am. Following the visitation, a Celebration of Life will take place at the same location at 9:00 am. The committal service will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218, at 11:30 am.
Willard Paul Martin Jr. will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his love for life.
