William (Bill) Franklin Barker, 89, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, August 20, 2017. Born in Jacksonville, Florida he was a son of the late William Mack and Martha Elizabeth Williams Barker. Bill graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in 1946. Bill then served two years in the Army as a Sergeant before attending the University of Florida. He graduated with a bachelor of business administration degree in 1951. Bill retired Norfolk Southern Rail Road after 22 years of service.
William is survived by his son, Frank Barker and his wife Sandy; daughter-in-law, Kelly Barker and her son, Brian Mc Guire; grandson, Robert Barker and his wife Jenn. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pennie Barker; son, Hank Barker; 3 sisters and a brother.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:00am at Greenlawn Cemetery 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
