
William H. Rose, born January 22,1926, a native of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on January 3, 2022. He was a loving husband to his late wife, Betty Sager Rose for 57 years. William was an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow and Scouting’s National Honor Society. And graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was an avid stamp collector for over 80 years and was fondly known as the “Stamp Man”.
He retired from Sysco Food Service after over 30 years. After retirement he devoted many hours volunteering for his synagogue, the Jacksonville Jewish Center, and unselfishly gave his time to anyone who asked him to volunteer.
He is survived by his daughters, Margaret Rose and Allison Holtz (John), and granddaughter Rachel Gerber.
The family wishes to express their most sincere gratitude to Amber, Savannah, LueAnn and Curline who cared for him at his home with all their love and devotion.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Jewish Family & Community Services Food Bank, The American Diabetes Association or the charity of your choice.
A graveside service for William was held Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 2:30 PM at Evergreen Cemetery- New Center, Jacksonville, FL 32206.
