

William Frank Thompson, Sr. passed away May 23, 2017. He was born September 27, 1937 in Auburndale, Florida. William was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. William was a Sgt. with the Auburndale Police Department for 20 + years. He was an avid FSU fan, he loved to sing and be around his family and friends.
William is preceded in death by his parents J.C. Thompson and Dessie Doyle Butler Thompson, brothers Hubert Thompson, Johnny Thompson, and Ralph Thompson. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jo Atter Thompson and five children Debbie Jenkins (Charles), Ray Jean Leggett (Chris), Gwen Pollock (Les), William F. Thompson Jr., and Sherry Whigham, also a brother Ray Thompson and sister Ann Thompson Humphries. He also has 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from five to seven o’clock in the evening at the Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Chapel. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel on Monday, May 29, 2017 Followed by a committal service in Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors.
