

Mr. William "Frank" Varnado, Jr. passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of May 9, 2014, in Jacksonville. He was a strong man, an expert carpenter by trade and will be remembered as a very hard worker with unmatched skills and an eye for detail. He loved sports especially The Jaguars and The Yankees. The man could grill like a seasoned chef and he enjoyed being in the kitchen as well. He had a common craving for good ole new Orleans Crawfish and seafood. He was often known to boil up a sack. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.
He loved to work outside in his garden. He lived life to the fullest and loved his family.
His children are thankful for the way he raised them.
Frank is survived by his wife of 33 years and the love of his life, Patricia.
He leaves behind two children and their spouses Layla Varnado Smith and her husband David of Picayune, MS and his son William "Frank" Varnado III and his wife Jennifer of Jacksonville. He will forever be missed by his six granddaughters; Brittany, Emma, Rebekah, Amelia, Lily, and Lauren.
He is survived by his mother Mary Hart Varnado of Picayune, MS; his sisters: Belinda Beech, Marsha Cook, and Patty Jo Blocker. He also leaves behind his very best friend and companion, Yulee.
Mr. Varnado was preceded in death by his father, William Frank Varnado, Sr., Nephew, Mark Mitchell and his beloved pet, Harley.
Visitation will be at Hardage-Giddens The Oaklawn Chapel from Six o’clock p.m. to Eight o’clock p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2014. His funeral will be held in The Oaklawn Chapel on Wednesday, at Eleven Thirty a.m. He will be buried at the Jacksonville national cemetery following the service.
