Wilma Pfeiffer Norse, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, entered eternal rest on December 31, 2025, in her hometown of Jacksonville, Florida. Born on May 10, 1939, Wilma lived a life defined by love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest James Pfeiffer Sr. and Gertrude Wilma Crockett Pfeiffer, and her siblings, Mary Jeannine Rowland and Forrest James “Buddy” Pfeiffer Jr. Wilma leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her five daughters: Cammie (Fred) Byrd, Kelli Norse, Staci Stantz, Kathy (Bob) Moody, and Traci (Rick) Walker; eleven cherished grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy.
Wilma’s greatest passion was her family. She was happiest when surrounded by loved ones. She worked full-time in various administrative roles, but she never missed an event for her girls. Whether cheering from the stands at basketball and softball games or simply sharing everyday moments. When asked if she had a favorite child, her answer was always the same: “I do not have favorites, but I always love the one who needs me the most at any particular moment.” That sentiment perfectly reflects her selfless heart.
A devout Catholic, Wilma lived her faith through service. After retiring in 2005 she volunteered at Memorial hospital every week until it was no longer safe for her to drive in 2024. She also volunteered at San Jose Catholic Church as a greeter for mass and lovingly cared for the altar linens—a role she embraced with pride. Her servant’s heart was evident in everything she did, always putting others first and offering help wherever needed.
Known affectionately as Mom, Yaya, or simply Wilma, she had a gift for making everyone feel loved. Her heart was vast, and she filled it with family, friends, and faith. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and compassion will live on through those who were blessed to know her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM at San Jose Catholic Church, 3619 Toledo Rd., Jacksonville, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Catholic Charities Jacksonville or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Her love and faith will forever guide us, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
