She was born in Havana, Cuba on December 18, 1925, the daughter of Angel de Moya and Julieta Marzan. She married Guillermo Manuel Pujadas, M.D. on November 13, 1948 and they both immigrated to the United States that same day, taking up residence in Chicago, IL where Dr. Pujadas was completing his medical internship and residency.
Yolanda was known for her deep love of God and family. For as long as she was able, she did whatever she could to assist and aid those less fortunate. To Yolanda, family was always the most important, second only to God. She loved traveling to Miami as she would always return claiming that she had found a “new” cousin. It didn’t matter how distant the relation was, they were always a “cousin” to her.
One of her most endearing traits was that she could not allow herself to remain idle. She was always helping others, looking for new hobbies and enjoyed traveling to new places with Guillermo.
Yolanda is preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo, her parents, her brothers George, Fabio and Roberto, and her sisters, Olga and Martha.
Yolanda is survived by her sons, William G. Pujadas, M.D. (Joy) of Jacksonville, and Thomas E. Pujadas (Jeanne); grandchildren William Pujadas (Kathryn), Kaysee Papelbon (Joshua), Korree Mayo (Michael), Kristin Nelson (Rob) and Kari Brock (Stephen); as well as seven great-grandchildren (with an eighth expected).
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Hardage-Giddens Oaklawn Legacy Lodge, 4801 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
