It is with great sadness that the family of Yung Van Lam announces his passing, on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at the age of 49. Yung will be survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 29 years, Mari and his children, Jonathan and Lyndsea. Yung is also survived and fondly remembered by his mother, MyLe Poole, brother Hung Poole, brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Chickie Smith, niece, Meighan (Joshua) Carter, nephew, Matthew Smith, the Losco family, and the Eiserman’s, as well as all other bereaved family members, dear friends, his six loving dogs, and one goofy granddog. Yung was predeceased by his father, Donald Poole and his in-laws, Bruno and Olga Moyano.
Yung was born on October 14, 1968 in Vietnam. He moved to the United States as a young child and lived the rest of his life in Jacksonville, FL. At the age of 18, Yung answered his nations call by joining the United States Navy and serving honorably for six years, which included time during the first Gulf War. While working at Southeast Toyota for the past 17 years, Yung worked hard to earn his Associates degree and volunteered at Camp Boggy Creek, Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, Youth Automotive Training Center, and countless other organizations. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you donate your time by volunteering and serving the community that was so important to Yung during his brief time with us. We will all miss Yung very much.
A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Monday, October 15, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Knights of Columbus Social Club, 1501 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
