Edna attended Kenansville Baptist Church and was a lifelong servant to God. She spent many years as a substitute teacher for the Duplin County School System. She was also an avid gardener, volunteered with the Red Cross and spent time as a candy striper at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Edna was always a friend to those in need and had the heart of a servant. She was a very special mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family as well as adventure. Edna was a good listener and a good director in life to her children and grandchildren. Edna was also a loving and faithful wife.
Edna was preceded in death by her loving husband, Phillip R. Brinson, parents, Carl and Ruthie Heath, brothers; Ray Heath and Ed Heath.
She is survived by son, Phillip Raymond Brinson (Tanya) of Raleigh, daughters; Donna Lynn Brinson Futrell (Tom) of Richlands, Phylliss Brinson Whaley of Kenansville, Verilyn Brinson Titus (David) of Cartersville, GA, grand children; Brandon Futrell, Chloe Gate, Jennifer Whaley Huffman, Amber Whaley Bell, Tiffany Titus, Winter Titus, Kaitlin Titus, William Titus, Stormy Brinson Baker, Nicholas Scott Stroud, and many wonderful great grand children.
A celebration of life will be held 6:30pm Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville. The family will receive friends following the service. Burial will be at 11:00am on Wednesday May 22, 2019 at Onslow Memorial Park.
