John George Murphy, 77 of Jacksonville, passed away at Vidant Medical Center of Greenville Sunday evening.
John was preceded in death by his first wife, Claudine Murphy and son Stevie Murphy. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Murphy, sons Robin G. Murphy and Andrew Murphy, daughter Angela McCausley, step sons Paul Albert and Steven Albert, brothers Ardel Murphy and Clifton Murphy, sister Macy Wetherington, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A visitation for John will be held on Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville from 7 – 9 PM. Services will be held on Thursday at 10AM at Johnson Funeral Home of Jacksonville. Interment will follow the service at the Murphy Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association.
