Raeford was one of my Dad's dearest friends for over 40 years buying tires and joking around.He also helped me out of my first and only speeding ticket some 38 years ago a man I would never forget.I believe there is a special place in Heaven for people like Mr. Raeford.

God has taken a golden rose home Mr.Raeford was of the only people who went out of his way to help people and check on them he was my friend and my husbands friend i always had to stuff money in his shirt pocket because he would say your husband does for me and does not charge i would say thats ok.W =e will surely miss him and i will miss my hugs he gave me when i came in and went out there will never be another Mr.Raeford god bless you family you had a very special person in your lifes

The Hudsons were good neighbors. They raised two fine children. Raeford will be missed by his family and friends.

I was saddened to read of Raeford's death.  I have fond memories of growing up in the Half Moon Community  with Raeford and Helen and their parents.  My condolences go to all of you.

I have known Raeford since the time that the old Flakes Tire Co, was in Jacksonville.  I recall how he relocated his business several times with the last one being Safeway on Old Maplehurst Rd.  When I stopped in for service, he would always ask me two things.  First, how was my brother-in-law Jerome Humphery doing; second, how was my special needs daughter,  Raeford enjoyed helping people and having people around him.  He will be missed, but do as I just did, remember the good times and his thoughtfulness.

Randy I just heard. My heart is so heavy. I loved Radford and his love, Dorothy. Few people gain a special place in my heart. Radford has his own room. I know Papa and Mama were there to  greet him and help him dorn his angel wings. Fly high Radford. My prayers are with you Randy and all of your family.

Uncle Raeford will be greatly missed including his sweet smile, laugh, and those awesome pig pickins!  It is comforting to know that he is with the Lord, and reunited with his lovely bride Dorothy.

This world has lost a wonderful person! There is no other man who had a heart as big as what "Uncle" Raeford had. He was always there for me after my Daddy had his heart attack and then passed away. So very sorry to learn of Raefords passing. My Dad always did business with him at Flakes Tires. That has been 45 years of knowing this wonderful man you knew as Daddy. We didn't just think of Raeford as a dear friend we thought of him as a loving family member. He was always there to help me out when my car would break down. Rarely accepted payment, just a hug and he'd say I'm just glad you're alright and I could do it. He was always there to rescue me and would lend me his car while fixing mine or offer me something to eat that he was cooking there at his shop and hangout with the usual gang. We loved that man! He will truly be missed. He had a heart of gold. Heaven is very lucky.
