He was preceded in death by his wife Joan Brooke McClain.
He is survived by his son, Allen Lee McClain and wife Brenda, of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Kevin Royster, Robert Royster, Kelly Antwine, Kristine Krostek and twelve great grandchildren.
Ronald was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, having served during the Korean War.
Funeral services will be held on at 12:30 on Monday, June 19, 2017 at Johnson Funeral Home, Jacksonville. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 18.
