Adelle Jackson Dodd

Family will be receiving friends at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home, Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 1 until 2 p.m. Service will follow at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Liberty Grove Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery of Flatwoods. Ben Jones will officiate.

Adelle was born on September 16, 1928, to Ben and Myrtle Jackson in Carbon Hill. She spent a number of years in Homestead, FL raising her family until 1984 when she returned to Alabama and settled in Madison after the death of her husband, Ray C. Dodd. Adelle was a wonderful wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Dodd; son, Doug Dodd; parents, Ben and Myrtle Jackson; sisters, Estelle Napier, Martha Hicks, and Lavell Williams; and brothers, Henry Jackson, Frank Jackson, Bobby Jackson and Buster McGough.

She is survived by her son, Danny Ray Dodd (Katherine); granddaughter, Kristina Dodd; bonus granddaughter, Shannon Gamble (Aaron) and great granddaughter, Charlie Elise Gamble; brother, Kenneth McGough and a host of nieces, nephews too numerous to list, and friends that she loved immensely.
