Charles E. Evans passed away on July 2, 2020, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. He was born August 15, 1932, to Charlie and Ophia Evans of Cullman, Ala. He was proud to serve his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the USDA. After retirement he worked as a taxidermist for many years. He also loved wood carving, his favorite being walking sticks.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Ophia Evans; brothers, Vernard Evans, Walter Evans, Clorence Evans, and Bill Evans; sister, Margaret Evans.
He is survived by his loving wife, Syble Evans; sons, Charles Kenneth Evans and Edward Derrick Evans (Bonnie); granddaughter, Candi Schwitters; a special little girl, Isabella Carreker who called him Paw Paw; sisters, Ruth Willis and Mary Ann Clark (Raymond); sister-in-law, Doris Adair of Mesa, Ariz.
There will be a graveside service on Thursday, July 9, 2020, for family only due to Covid-19. Kilgore-Green Funeral Home will direct. Christopher Colvin will officiate.
