She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and an alumni of Alabama Christian College (now Faulkner University). She enjoyed traveling, reading, and keeping up with all the activities of family members and her great nieces and nephews. She enjoyed watching the University of Alabama sporting events, especially Crimson Tide Football.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Albert and Ethel Gilbert of Pumpkin Center; grandparents, William and Fannie Lee of Praco and Henry and Effie Gilbert of Cordova.
She is survived by her sister, Alberta McCaleb (Paul); nephew, Hunter McCaleb (Caitlyn); great nieces and nephews, Hadlee McCaleb, Ridge McCaleb, Harbor McCaleb, and River McCaleb; and aunts, Kathryn Pate of Cody, Wyoming, and Barbara McCarty of Birmingham and a host of friends. A private family service will be planned for the future.
