Galen Brady Hall, 63, passed away on November 12, 2025, in Birmingham, Alabama. Born on January 23, 1962, in Hammond, Indiana. Galen lived a life defined by service, love, and unwavering loyalty to those he held dear.
Galen proudly served his country with distinction for 20 years in the United States Navy, retiring honorably as a Senior Chief. Throughout his military career, he embodied the values of honor and commitment, always striving to do what was right—even when it wasn’t easy. His leadership left a lasting impression on those who served alongside him. Shipmates often shared with his daughters how deeply they respected him, recounting stories of his dedication and the care he showed for his fellow sailors. For many, serving with Galen was not just a duty—it was a privilege.
After retiring from the Navy, Galen returned to the comfort of small-town life where he remained close to family and embraced the simple joys that came with it. He found peace and freedom on the open road atop his motorcycle, especially during long rides with his beloved wife Teresa by his side. These moments—wind in their hair and hearts full—were among his most cherished.
Known for his rugged appearance—his long hair and proud beard—Galen might have seemed intimidating at first glance. But those who truly knew him understood that beneath that exterior was a man as gentle and loving as a teddy bear. His warmth and humor were constants in the lives of those around him.
Galen had a gift for bringing people together. He loved to cook for others and was especially known for his mastery of the grill. One of his most memorable culinary feats was preparing a whole pig in the ground for a family luau birthday celebration on New Year’s Day—a testament to both his skill and his generous spirit.
Above all else, Galen loved his country, his family, and his friends. His adventurous spirit and strong moral compass guided every step of his journey through life. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and unforgettable memories that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife Teresa Hall; children Brandi McMahon and husband Chris McMahon, Ashley Boswell and husband Jake Boswell, Brandon Martin and wife Brittany Martin, Megan Key and husband Josh Key; grandchildren Austin Hall, Cierra Cook, Brody Cross, Presley Boswell, Finley Boswell, Theo Boswell, Bruklyn Key, Charleigh-Jo Key, and Alex Jo Nielson; great-grandchildren Gabriella Hall and soon-to-arrive Waylon Hall; siblings Glenn Hall and wife Gale Hall, Caton Hall and wife Lori Hall, Carol McClendon and husband Richard McClendon, Billie Jean Williams and husband Brian Williams; and he leaves behind a large extended family, including many cherished nieces and nephews.
