
Harry Donald “Don” Pruett, 77, of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at Walker Baptist Medical Center. Don was born August 28, 1937, in Cullman County to Kermit T. and Lois L. Pruett. He was a graduate of Walker High School in 1956. He attended Auburn University. He served in the U.S. Army, active duty in Fort Jackson as Platoon Leader and also received advanced training in Fort Bragg, South Carolina. He later served in the Army Reserve, reaching the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was co/owner of Pruett Ford Tractor Company from 1963-1986 in Jasper. He was also president of the Alabama Brahman Breeders Association and American Brahman Breeders Association. He also worked years in the automobile industry. He was a member of the Living Light Church of God and the Praise and Worship Team. He loved and followed Southern Gospel Music. Don was preceded in death by his father, K.T. Pruett; daughter, Catherine Donine Pruett; and sister, Patricia Pruett Mitchell. Don is survived by his sons, Donnie Pruett (Robin) and Rodney Pruett (Tommye); their mother, Fay Benson Hamric; 7 grandchildren, Kelsey Grace Pruett, Hannah Faith Pruett, Lauren Hope Pruett, Joshua David Pruett, Kaleigh Nicole Pruett, Ryan Alexis Conway and Michael Reinbardt; his mother, Lois Pruett; sisters, Judy Patton (Pat) and Ginger Hughes (Steve); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and other dear friends. Visitation will be held at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home Sunday, June 28, 2015, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., with funeral services following at 2 p.m. Bro. Billy Driver, Bro. Andrew Ball and Bro. Barry Lombard will be officiating. Burial will take place at Walker Memory Gardens.
