I was blessed to have Coach not only as a teacher but as my bus driver for many years. I can still remember his voice in my head talking about science as well as many other things. I was extremely blessed to run into him many times as an adult and be able to spend a few minutes talking with him each time I did. He will be greatly missed by so many that loved him.

I was blessed to have Coach as a teacher and my bus driver for years. I loved his class and even though he would have to get on to me for talking can still hear his words in my head about science facts and other things. I was blessed to be in the community as an adult and be able to run into him and we would always spend a few minutes talking. He will be greatly missed and remembered by so many that loved him.

I am so glad to have been able to call , Jake my friend. We shared many memories from Curry Elem and Middle school years as teachers. He taught my daughter , Alicia Glover Key. Later, he also tutored her in Math. He watched out for her like a daughter for years. We all thought the world of Jake. I know the family will miss him. Praying for all. Jackie Glover

There is no words to describe Jake from Howard and I. He always had our back. I remember the time we wanted to buy our first home which was a single wide trailer, and Howard’s dad said he didn’t think then was the right time, so I went to our room and was crying, Jake came in and talked to me for awhile and he said we will do this, you , Howard and Christy , she was two years old, will have this trailer. And yes we got it. He made sure of it. Howard thought of Jake as a brother, he loved all the fishing trips to the river with Jake, all the big breakfasts he would fix them. We will miss him so much, Christy and Catie loved him so much they would have moved in and lived with Jake and Peggy. Jake and I share the same birthday, so I will think of him every year at that time. Rest In Peace Jake, we love you!!

Coach Rigsby wasn't my teacher or coach, rather, he was my school bus driver. I was in kindergarten when I was getting off the bus after school. Being a naive and trusting child, I never looked before I went across the busy highway. A speeding FedEx truck was coming and never checked up. Thankfully, I saw it just in time, and backed up. After that, Coach saw to it that someone walked me across for the rest of the year. The next year and every year after, I didnt have someone walk me across, I, instead, would look to Coach Rigsby who would wave his hand to let me know it was safe to go across the road.
He also had to pass by my house twice. Once on the way out to his route and again on his way home. He always let me decide if I would get off the bus on the first pass or if I wanted to "ride around" and get off the bus last. We always had great conversations when I would ride. He helped me with my nerves over tests, spelling bees, and just life in general.
There wasn't anyone like Coach Rigsby. I'm heartbroken to hear of his passing as he had such an impact on my life in elementary school.

I never met Jake but felt that I knew him through my years of working along side Scott. He loved his family for sure and will be missed by all. Memories are precious, may they help you through this difficult time.

I remember Coach very well. All three of my boys were taught by him in Science class at Curry. They loved him, and he was a teacher that made learning fun. He will be greatly missed.
