Jerry Douglas Merchant

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, from 12 until 1 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 1 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Smith Chapel Cemetery. Ty McIntyre will officiate.

He is was preceded in death by his parents, Elzie Doc Merchant and Lela Mae McCormic Merchant; siblings, Melba Fay Eads, Jimmy Lee Merchant, Elzie Jr. Merchant; in-laws, George Dewy Herron and Ester Gemima Herron; Berthel Merchant, Betty F. Merchant, William “Bus” Eads; nephew Jimmy Dewayne Merchant; nieces, Jessica Nichole Herron and Brenda Sue Tucker.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty J. Merchant; children, James Douglas Merchant (Teresa), Sharron Lynette Merchant May (Alan) and David Allan Merchant (Myra); grandchildren, Katherine Allaysia Merchant, Dustin Alan May, James Austin Reed Merchant, Maleigha La Shelle Panter (Andy), Dawson Lee Merchant (Amrie Jane), Alie Brooke May, C.J. Gurganus, Asher Lee Merchant, Everleigh Mae Panter, Jordan Glass, Jeremy Glass, Crystal Jackson and Donna Nix; in-law, Micheal Eugene Herron; special friend, Faye Blankenship and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
