Joyce Barton Taylor, 90, of Jasper, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at home. A graveside service was held Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery. Tim Meherg officiated.
She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos Sydney Phelps; step father and mother, Ralph and Vivian Terry; widowed from her husband Colonel Kenneth Taylor, USMC.
She is survived by her son, Dr. James Barton (Amanda); and grandchildren, Taylor Barton, William Barton, Samuel Howton (Trinitie), and Anna Katherine Howton; as well as extended family and many beloved friends.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to First Baptist Church of Jasper in her honor.
