Leroy “Bunk” Wilson, 84, of Jasper, AL., passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019, at home. Family will receive friends Saturday, December 28, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Service will follow at 12:30 at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Dr. John Gates will officiate. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Gardens in Muscle Shoals, AL.
Leroy was the son of the late Maskle and Dewey Wilson of Tuscumbia, AL. He worked in printing from High School until retirement and took great pride in doing his best. He loved his family, friends, and just being with people. He enjoyed playing golf and one highlight for him was playing TPC Sawgrass in Jacksonville, FL., missing the water at number seventeen and scoring a two. He also loved Alabama football and Smith Lake. Bunk was also a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Hershell Wilson of Tuscumbia, AL; sister, Joyce Wilson Mintz of Chattanooga, TN.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lavonne Crabb Wilson; daughter, Lori Wilson Unitt (Joseph) of Carlsbad, CA.; son, Chad Wilson (Suzy) of Oneonta, AL.; brother, Edsul Wilson (Dallas) of Montgomery, AL.; sisters, Edith Moore of Knoxville, TN. And Melba Madry (Leon) of Tuscumbia, AL.; grandchildren, Spencer Unitt, Jesse Unitt, Ethan Unitt (Rosanna), Seth Wilson, Ashley Wilson Gossett, Katie Rae Wilson, Kayley Webb (Nick), Hunter McDowell (Breanna), and Carsyn Gilliland (Peyton); great grandchildren, Breeley Gossett, Brooks Gossett, Reese Webb, and Charley Grace McDowell; several nieces and nephews, very special friends Hoyt and Betty Picklesimer and family, and Nita Brown and family. The family would like to thank New Beacon Hospice for their wonderful care and friendship.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Building Fund at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
