Linda Pike, 72, of Carbon Hill, passed away Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at her home surrounded by family.
Graveside service will be held at McDade Cemetery, on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2019, at 2 p.m., with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. Todd Hunter will be officiate.
Linda was a nurse for 40 plus years and took care of those most sick and vulnerable and took care of those in hospitals and nursing homes and in the end battled ovarian cancer for the last 4 years and 5 months. Our family will miss Linda terribly, especially her twin Brenda. She was very loving, caring and giving of herself to everyone she met. We know she is in God’s loving arms with her family and loved ones who passed on before her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Guthrie Pike; father, Charlie “Floyd” Pike; sisters, Geneva Tittle and Vivian Clements; and brother, Quentin Pike.
She leaves behind one son, Christopher Pike; twin sister, Brenda Pike; sisters, Margaret Pike, Mary Kellis, Nancy Izzi, and Martha Phillips (Harold); brothers, Joe Pike (Becky), Kermit Pike, and Charles “Bob” Pike and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank a host of loving and compassionate caregivers at Southeast Hospice of Jasper, who gave acts of mercy every single day with the grace of our Lord in their hearts; nurses, her niece, Angela Lacy, Lorna Harbison, Angie Slate, Cindy Shifflett, Ronica Montgomery; social worker Jenny Stone and chaplain, Todd Hunter. God Bless everyone who prayed for Linda or helped in any way.
