Graveside Service will be held Friday, October 30, 2020, at 11 a.m., at Oak Hill Cemetery, with Kilgore-Green Funeral Home directing. Levi Sides will officiate.
Louis was married to Shirley for 57 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army’s “Old Guard” stationed in Ft. Myers, VA from 1960- 1962. He retired from Alabama Power in 1997. Louis was a member of 6th Ave. Church of Christ. He was a dedicated family man who loved his wife, son, and grandchildren. The light of his life was his grandchildren Allison and Luke. Louis loved gardening, vacationing with his family in the Smoky Mountains, and reading his bible. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in his death by his parents, Andrew and Rose Sortino; brothers, Vincent Sortino and Joseph Sortino; grandparents, Louis and Alice Sortino, and Vincent and Virginia Bondi; and in-laws, Grady and Cleo Burton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley Sue Burton Sortino; son, David Anthony Sortino (Gail); grandchildren, Allison Nicole Sortino, and Luke Anthony Sortino; and a host of nieces and friends.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Comfort Care Hospice, for their compassion, love, and unending care during the final weeks of his life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sixth Ave. Church of Christ.
