

Martha Lane Cook Cox, of Arley, Alabama, passed peacefully on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Kemp Meadows in Winfield, Alabama. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Arley, directed by Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Dr. Roger White will officiate.
Born in Arley, Alabama, October 12, 1931, to Will and Alma Cook, Martha was one of twelve siblings. She became a loving wife of Royce Benjamin Cox and a mother of four sons.
She is preceded in death by her husband Royce Cox; sons Billy Preston Cox and James Edward Cox; as well as siblings Lera McCauley, Edna Watts, Louise Chappell, Travis, Roy, Earnest, Hollis, Delano, Olen and Allen.
She is survived by one brother, Tummie (Janet) Cook; her sons Larry (Deb) and Ted (Michelle); daughters in law Debbie and Phyllis; grandchildren Amber Trantham, B.J. Cox, Adam Cox, Casey Kauffman, Garrett Cox, Jacob Cox, Martin Cox, Aubrey and Joseph Cox; and great grandchildren, Grady Trantham, Ansley Cox, Carter Cox, Preston Cox, Royce and Russell Trantham, Aurora Kauffman, Caroline Cox, Cecilia Cox, Hadley Kauffman, and Catherine Cox.
Pallbearers will be B.J. Cox, Adam Cox, Garret Cox, Jacob Cox, Martin Cox, Aubrey Cox, and Joseph Cox.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Arley Baptist Church, PO Box 126 Arley AL 35541.
