Patricia Lynn Mercer Ledford, 75, of Arley, was welcomed into her Heavenly home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 1, 2026. Known lovingly as “Patty” to those who knew her, she leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and devotion to her family.
Patty was born on March 25, 1951, to Murry and Francine Mercer. Her life reflected the Gospel from an early age, as she was adopted and lovingly raised by her parents. She began building her own family legacy when she married her husband, L.V. Ledford, in September 1965. Together, they shared many cherished memories throughout their 55 years of marriage.
Their greatest blessing came as they became parents to their three daughters: Melissa, Michelle, and Stephanie. Being a mother was one of Patty’s most treasured roles. She was endlessly proud of her children and warmly embraced the spouses God brought into their lives, loving them as her own sons. She was a nurturing mother who lovingly guided her daughters by example, showing them what it means to be a devoted and caring wife and mother.
Her legacy of love continued to grow when she became “MawMaw” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren—a title she wore with great joy. Patty was a devoted and active grandmother, faithfully present in their lives. Whether she was cheering them on at sporting events, playing countless board games, or enjoying time together watching game shows, MawMaw created memories that will be cherished for generations.
