

Bob was born in Jasper on September 18, 1936. Throughout his life, he was a builder, a teacher, a bus driver and a statistician for Walker High School for 40 years. In 1998, he retired from teaching but continued to drive the bus until 2017. Bob was a square dancer with Swinging Squares for over 20 years and was an avid golfer. He was taken care of by his devoted nephew, Todd Sparks, for 8 years.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6th, from 12pm – 1pm at Kilgore-Green with service to follow at 1pm in the chapel, with burial at Walker Memory Gardens. Chris Colvin will be the minister.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Frances Sparks Woods; parents, Arthur and Josephine Woods; and siblings, Nancy, Pete (Fannie Bell) and Judy.
He is survived by his son, Robin Woods; grandson, Billy Jack Woods and wife Brittney Woods; great grandchildren, Abby Woods Taft, Charlie Woods and Riggs Woods; step great grandchildren, Fred Upton and ZJ Upton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Bob’s caregivers, especially Cheryl Borden who cared for him for over 7 years. Other care givers, Vanessa, Terra, Christy, Kerry, Macy and Tina Kirby who cared for him for years and stayed with him around the clock in his final weeks and days. They were all blessings to Bob.
