Ruth Elaine Waldrop Farris

Ruth Elaine Waldrop Farris, 99, of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Water Oak Villa. Family will receive friends Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Walker Memory Gardens. David Byrd will officiate.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Farris; parents, Ruben and Ora Cofield Waldrop; brothers, R.B. Waldrop, Russell Waldrop and Aaron Waldrop; sister, Janice Waldrop Wright; in law, Kay Farris.

She is survived by her children, James Ronald Farris of Jacksonville, FL, Pamela Ann Farris Girtman (Bill) of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Rebecca Farris Balloue (Paul) of Jacksonville, FL, Laura Farris Phillips (John) of Bentonville, AR and Rachel Girtman Devereaux (Wally) of Colleyville, TX; brother, Robert Waldrop (Sarah) of Jasper; and great-grandchildren, T.J. Balloue, Danny Balloue, Matthew Balloue, Jack Phillips, Kate Phillips, Abigail Devereaux Andrus (Whit) of Winston-Salem, NC, and Emerson Devereaux.

Pallbearers will be Wally Devereaux and John Phillips.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Alabama Baptist Children’s Home or Baptist Health Walker Hospital Volunteer Association.
