Mrs. Shelby Lee Odom

Shelby Lee Black Odom, 75, of Cordova, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham. The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at the Sumiton Church of God. Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at 1 p.m., at Sumiton Church of God. Burial will be Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, at 2 p.m., at Friendship Estates Cemetery. Martin Taylor and Lane Sargent will officiate. Survivors, who she now rejoices and awaits to be reunited with in heaven, are her husband, Douglas B. Odom; sons, Michael Odom and Paul Allen Odom; daughter, Bethany Odom Perkins (Shane); grandson, Skylar Lara; along with many other family and friends. She now continues her love of singing, playing the organ, hosting many gatherings of family and friends. Along with loving and caring for all, she now continues these many things with her family which preceded her in death, parents, John O. and Velma Defore Black; brothers, Earl Black, Elmer Allen Black and Larry Paul Black; and sister, Jean Black Ridgeway.
