So Ok Kwak, 70, of Jasper, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Princeton Baptist Medical Center. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Walker Memory Gardens. Seong Min Im will officiate. Kwak loved Alabama football, cooking, kimchi chigae, family and the simple joys of life. He was a kind, loving, loyal, hardworking, inspiring, caring, determined, ambitious, thoughtful, selfless, giving, talented, loved and respected man. He was the owner and cook of Oriental Steak House, a fixture in the community for over 25 plus years. He will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pan Jun Kwak and Kyu Dae Kwak. He is survived by his wife, Ho Sun Kwak; daughter, Yoon “Lexi” Kwak; sisters, Ssang “Sonny” Ervin, Chong Posey, Jung Ae Kwak; brother, Dae Ok Kwak; and a host of many friends.
