Teresa Denise McGough Crittenden

Family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at Walker Memory Gardens on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 11a.m., directed by Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Adam Hicks will officiate.

A loving sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, Denise lived her life with a smile and a joyous spirit. Through many hardships she experienced, she was a trooper- from being a caretaker for her husband for over 6 years and battling ovarian cancer for two years after his death, she was always smiling and laughing and was such a light in many others' lives. She had a fulfilling career as a civil engineer, including many years as a cartographer alongside her husband at the Walker County Courthouse, and she retired in 2018. Everyone who met Denise loved her.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Dan Crittenden, and sister-in-law, Helayne Crittenden.

She is survived by her parents, Robert and Emma Jo McGough, of Nauvoo, sister Vicky Pridemore and brother-in-law David Pridemore of Jasper, and nieces and nephews Katie Heathcock (Cody), Jordan Pridemore (Kaitlin), Aaron Pridemore, and Emily Pridemore, and many great nieces and nephews, and her brother-in-law, Bill Crittenden, her special friend, James O'Shea, and her fur baby DeeDee was a cherished companion.
