Wendell was loved, respected and also admired by all he met. He spent 26 years in the Air Force. He retired at Sgt. While in he earned the AF complexion medal, AF achievement medal, AF outstanding Unit Award with Four Defense service medal with one Devil, AF overseas long tour ribbon with one device. AF congevity service award ribbon with one device, NCO professional MGG Ribbon small Arms Export marksmanship ribbon and AF Trainms Ribbon. When he retired he continued to serve his community by earning his BS and masters in phycology by working with troubled teens at Adam Bishop Center and Camp Mitink.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca R Aycock; parents, O.C. and Maudine Aycock; brother, Calvin Aycock.
He is survived by his wife, Eugenia Aycock; children, Paul Aycock (Gail), Wendy Cosby, and Alice Aycock; grandchildren, Michael Ulrich- Aycock, Mark Ulrich-Aycock, Amber Lane, Justin Key, Abbie Aycock, Eugene Young, Emily Young, Katherine Young and Jacob Young; sister, Mary Sparks (John); brother, Gerald Aycock (Charlene); great grandchildren, Jaxson Jones and Willa Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
