William Christopher Elder

William (Chris) Elder passed away May 28, 2026, at home at the age of 67. Chris was a long suffering, faithful Christian. He was a kind and loving husband, father, brother, son and friend. He will be dearly missed and in our hearts forever.

Family will be receiving friends on Monday, June 1st, 2026, from 11am to 12pm at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Services will follow in the chapel at 12pm. Burial will be at Goodsprings Church of Christ Cemetery. Mike Gurganus will officiate.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Brown; grandparents, William (Bus) and Stella Elder, and Willie and Mae Brown; and brother-in-law, Randall Gammon.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Elder; children, Christopher Elder and Robert Elder (Gena); nine grandchildren; parents, Billie Ruth Dorning and special friend, Carolyn (Mama) Tackett; siblings, Greg Elder (Rhonda), Roy Brown, Dennise Stricklin (Vic), Cyndi Edwards (Wade) and Charles; and in-laws, Betty Gammon, Cinda Johnston and Jeffery Gammon (Annette).

Pallbearers will be Kenny Hallman, Timothy Sanders, Jordan Sanders, Chris Pike, Denny Olive and Alex Farley.
