He was born August 14, 1952, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Santino and Emilia Donofrio Barchiesi.
Mr. Barchiesi was a 1971 graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School. He served in the PA National Guard as a Military Police Officer and the discipline and patriotism he learned from his service never left him. He was a member of the UMWA and worked as a Coal Miner at Cumberland and Kirby Mines.
Carl was a local businessman in Rices Landing owning a carwash, laundromat, and storage units. He really enjoyed spending his time working with his hands. He was a skilled craftsman, who used his talents to improve his friends and loved ones homes. Carl was a true outdoorsman and an avid hunter, both locally and across the United States and Canada. Throughout his lifetime, he created award-winning taxidermy mounts as a licensed taxidermist. Anybody who had an opportunity to know and love Carl would agree that he was a hard-working, down to earth, compassionate man who spent his life doing good for others and providing for his children; that will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He will be missed by his beloved companion, his dog Nitty.
Mr. Barchiesi was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Waynesburg.
On October 24, 2003 he married Rosemary Schwier Barchiesi, who died January 14, 2014.
Surviving are four children, Megan (Jeremy) Smith of Ocean View, DE, Andrea Barchiesi of Baltimore, MD, Rennie Barchiesi (fiancée Sarah Buday) of Raleigh, NC, and Vanessa (Corey) Caruso of Pittsburgh; a grandson, William Smith; four siblings, Santino (Emma) Barchiesi of Waynesburg, Louise (Dave) Saunders of Mather, Richard (Barbara) Barchiesi of Waynesburg, and Linda Harshman of Jefferson; and a sister-in-law, Rita Shimek.
Deceased in addition to his wife and parents are a brother, Raymond Barchiesi, and brothers-in-laws, David Grasha and Barry Harshman; and a nephew, Joseph Barchiesi.
