Charles J. "Jeff" Criss

He was born July 25, 1946 in Waynesburg, a son of the late Robert “Pap” and Ruth Wallace Criss.

Jeff was a 1965 graduate of Waynesburg High School. He was an outstanding athlete growing up playing Little League Baseball with the Eastend Wildcats, Pony League with the Moose Lodge, and in high school played baseball, basketball and football. After high school he played fast pitch softball with the championship team Guthrie Truckers, Wayne Lumber and a team in Morgantown, WV. His most loved sport later on was golfing and was the club Champion at Rohanna’s Golf Course at one time. He enjoyed gardening and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Waynesburg and the Moose Lodge #461, Waynesburg.

On July 24, 2014 he married Linda Tiernan, who survives.

Also surviving are two step-daughters, Tracy Sheedy of Moundsville, WV and Laura Mike of Dilliner; six step-grandchildren, Samantha, Hunter, Wyatt, Madeira, Natalia, and Nash; a sister, Mardy Rush and her husband Jim of Spartanburg, SC; and a brother, Robert Wallace Criss and his wife Carol of Smithfield, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Rohanna’s Golf Course, 1005 Rolling Meadows Rd., Waynesburg, PA 15370 on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 11:30 a.m., followed by a gathering of friends and family at 12:15 p.m. in the Waynesburg Moose Lodge #461, 140 S. Morgan St., Waynesburg, PA 15370. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the C J Criss Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o First Federal Savings and Loan, 25 E. High St., Waynesburg, PA 15370.
