

He was born April 29, 1954 in Mapleton Depot, Huntingdon County, PA, a son of the late George “Boy” Grainey and Joanne Booher Pleasant.
Mr. Grainey was a 1972 graduate Huntingdon Area High School.
After high school David join the United States Navy and served during the Vietnam War.
He was a corrections officer for SCI Huntingdon and SCI Greene for over 29 years before retiring.
Mr. Grainey was an avid sports fan, camper and golfer and he was a member of the American Legion Post #954, Jefferson.
On May 29, 1976 he married Sharon Aumiller, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Jason Grainey and his wife Alesia of Huntingdon, Christopher Grainey and his wife Dusti Bedilion of Clarksville, and Teri Grainey of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Garett Grainey, Riley Grainey, Parker Grainey, Karson Grainey, Danica Grainey, and Gabriella Grainey; two sisters, Diane Swanger and her husband Ken of Mill Creek, and Drena Russler and her husband Brian of Alexandria; and several nieces and nephews he loved so dearly.
Deceased is a sister, Debbie Grainey.
Family and friends will gather from 12 Noon to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the Jefferson American Legion Post #954, Jefferson, PA 15344, for a celebration of the life of David Grainey.
