Frances Szallay

She was born July 20, 1927 in Revere, a daughter of the late Gaspare and Margaret Rose Connell Giubileo.

Mrs. Szallay had attended Jefferson High School and had worked at one time at the former Davis’ Market in the bakery.

She lived most all of her life in the Clarksville area, where she was a member of St. Thomas R.C. Church. She was a former member of the Clarksville Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and the Christian Mothers of St. Thomas Church.

On June 14, 1947 she married Stephen J. Szallay, who died July 4, 1963.

Surviving are a son, Stephen A. Szallay and his wife Barbara of Gibsonia; two grandchildren, Brian Szallay and his wife Kristin of Jacksonville, FL and Heather Rhea and her husband Darin of Aurora, IL; a sister, Barbara Giubileo of Fairfax, VA; a niece, Gina Miller and her husband Bernie of Clarksville, a nephew, John Giubileo and his wife Cassie of Morgan Hill, CA and several great nieces and nephews.

Deceased are two brothers, James Giubileo and John Giubileo.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where a Blessing Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 11, 2012, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Thomas R.C. Church, Clarksville with Fr. J. Francis Frazer as celebrant. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. Condolences may be expressed online at www.behm-funeralhomes.com.
