

He was born July 8, 1918 in Rices Landing, a son of the late Francis L. and Bessie Lee Clayton Christopher.
Mr. Christopher was a 1937 graduate of Waynesburg High School.
He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WW II, serving with the 93rd Air Squadron, attached to the 35th Fighter Squadron, 5th Air Force. He was discharged as a Staff Sargent and served in New Guinea, Guam, Luzon and Ryukyus Island. His decorations included the American Theater Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Philippines Liberation Ribbon with a Bronze Star, and the WW II Victory Medal.
After his Military Service he worked for the General Services Administration in several locations. He then worked for the National Park Service, Department of the Interior at Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming and Isle Royale National Park, Houghton, MI.
On June 21, 1953 he married Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Parry, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Lee Ann Christopher and her husband Thomas Smith of Wind Ridge; two step-sons, Harry L. Braddock and Paul A. Braddock both of Holbrook; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 11 am to 1:00 p.m. the hour of services on Tuesday, June 30, 3015 in the Behm Funeral Homes, 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, with the Rev. Gary L. Grau officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by the United States Army.
