Fred N. Hunter

He was born November 13, 1939, in Appomattox, VA, a son of the later Wyatt Hunter and Mary Ellen Lewis Hunter Harris.

Fred was a 1959 graduate of Jefferson High School.

He joined the United States Air Force in 1959 and served for over three years.

Fred worked as a coal miner at Bethlehem Steel, Marianna Mine and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are two sons, Fred N. Miller of Louisville, KY and Kerwin Sellars of Maryland; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister Artie B. Hunsucker of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Deceased is a sister, Rosa Brown Pitts; two brothers, Samuel Hunter and William Hunter and his wife Gay.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., in the First Baptist Church of Clarksville (Pitt Gas), 171 Frist St., Clarksville (Pitt Gas), PA 15322, with the Rev. Dr. James C. Cherry Sr., officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor.
