

She was born September 16, 1923 in Millcroft, Somerset County, a daughter of the late Orville E. and Mary Zivney Welling.
Hazel was a 1941 graduate of Jefferson High School and a graduate of Penn Commercial College.
She had worked several jobs in her life including a secretary for the War Protection Board in Washington DC and Air Force Transport Command. Later she was a mail carrier for the Rices Landing Post office. But most of all she was co-owner and worked with her husband in Lee’s Greenhouse in Dry Tavern for 53 years.
Hazel was a member of Hewitt Presbyterian Church, Rices Landing, and a former long time 4-H leader, Secretary-Treasurer of the former Lions Club Medical Center, Dry Tavern, Rices Landing Garden Club, Jefferson Senior Center, and the Rices Landing Card Club for 60 years.
On January 31, 1942 she married Lee S. Muscavitch, who died September 9, 2003.
Surviving are six children, Dan and Patty Muscavitch of Rices Landing, Marlee Sue and David Roberts of Boxborough, MA, Jennifer McClung of Spartanburg, SC, Melissa and Walter Whitehead of Houston, TX, Don and Peggy Muscavitch of Rices Landing, Amanda and Mark Davis of Rices Landing, and her son-in-law, Mark Harbaugh of St. Helena Island, SC; 17 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; a sister, Janet Matteucci of Irwin.
Deceased are a daughter, Bonnie Harbaugh; a granddaughter, Tiffany Davis; four brothers, Harry Richard “Red” Welling, Jesse Welling, Frank Welling, and Thomas Welling.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, in the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where services will held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Walter Whitehead officiating. Entombment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
