Helen passed away on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the age of 96. She was born April 13, 1920, in Deland, FL, to the late Roland and Gladys Hart of Penn Yan, NY. She received her RN Degree from Buffalo Children's Hospital, and then graduated from Baptist Bible Seminary in 1945. During this period, Helen set her faith in Jesus Christ and dedicated the rest of her life to serving God.
She was camp nurse in Mexico at the Wycliffe Jungle Training Camp. While there, she married Paul Morris Miller (1945). Later, they served as missionaries under the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism in India (1949-1953) and Bangladesh (1957-1960). In 1959, God called Paul home, but Helen carried on, running a medical clinic in the jungles of Bangladesh. Later, Helen became a school teacher in the Philippines (1961-1965), and a dorm mother in Murree, Pakistan (1968-1972). Throughout these years, Helen combined her service to God with her love of God's Creation, and her role of motherhood, raising four children.
In 1982, at age 62, she married Ralph C. Price of Penn Yan, NY. God gave them twenty beautiful years. Ralph was called home in 2002. Then in 2005 when Helen was 85, God brought love again, and Helen married Ben Brechbiel (2005-2006).
Helen is survived by her sister Esther Young (Bob) of Laurel, DE; four children, Arnold Miller (Diane) of Lynnwood, WA; Grace Roofner (Paul) of Waynesburg, PA; Vernon Miller (Ute) of Snohomish, WA; and Sharon Miller of New York City; nine grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are her sister Elaine Orcutt, and her three husbands, Paul M. Miller, Ralph C. Price, and Ben Brechbiel.
Helen's life can be characterized by one word, "joy". Helen was a faithful servant, and her welcome home will be joyous as she meets her Lord.
