

He was born October 26, 1921 in Simpson, Fayette County, a son of the late Erston and Byrdie Estick White.
He was a 1937 graduate of East Bethlehem High School.
On April 11, 1945 he married Elaine Castana White who died May 30, 1997.
Mr. White was a retired electrician for Republic Steel’s Clyde mine where he worked for 45 years. He was a so a partner in Ross and White Television Repair in Clarksville.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Coast Guard in the battles of Saipan, Tinian, and Manila Bay. He was awarded 2 bronze stars.
He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, and the American Legion in Fredericktown.
An avid golfer, Mr. Whhite was one of the founders of the Black Diamond Golf League and scored the first hole-in-one at the Carmichaels Golf Club.
Surviving are three sons, Holbert J. “Bucky” White Jr. (Diana) of Waynesburg; Gary S. White (Debbie) of Carmichaels, Lee A. White (Ronita) of Coraopolis; 6 granddaughters, Beth Swords, Lori Fox, Carly Arbogast, Amy Hopkins, Stacey Welker, and Nicole Reed; 2 grandsons, Ryan White and Jamie White; 8 great-grandchildren, Megan Swords, Ethan, Harper, and Elaina Welker, Sydney and Nathan Fox, Gavin Hopkins, and Michael Reed; one sister, Dorothy Jackson of Atlantic City, New Jersey; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are 5 sisters, Leona White, Alfretta Hackney, Eileen Hess, Gwen Crossland, and Florence Fullem and 5 brothers, Donald, Harold, Arthur, George , and Ronnie White.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2015 with Rev. John R. Dorean officiating followed by interment in Greene County Memorial Park.
