

He was born June 22, 1946 in Brownsville, a son of the late John and Mary Varvar Mezan.
Mr. Mezan was a retired coal miner. He had worked at several local mines and had also worked a few years for Republic Steel in Cleveland. He was employed as a groundskeeper at Duck Hollow Golf Club and previously worked at Nemacolin Country Club.
He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America, the Amend Gun Club, and the Dry Tavern Sportsman’s Club.
Mr. Mezan enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an excellent cook, and a fan of WVU football. He was a proud member of the unofficial “Republic Patch Gang.”
He is survived by his wife April Whipkey Mezan whom he married on August 4, 1990. She was the love of his life. Also surviving are five children, Nadine Mezan (Mark Schupp) of Beaver Falls, Jodi Bertagnolli (Rick) of Rices Landing, Kelly Fath of Rices Landing, Glenny Davis Jr. (Cait) of Masontown, and Jill Davis (Dave) of Crucible; 7 grandchildren, Ava and Mia Bertagnolli, Will and Betsy Fath, Josh Davis, Noah Peeples, and Kayla Schupp; one brother, Richard Mezan of Wellsburg, WV; his special brothers-in law and sisters-in law; and several nieces and nephews.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by Behm Funeral Homes Inc. 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson.
