He was born August 4, 1959 in Washington, a son of the late William Henry Marshall and Jannie Mae Lancaster Marshall.
Joey was a 1978 graduate of Brownsville High School.
He served in the United States Marine Corps and the US Army Reserves.
Joey was currently a corrections officer with SCI Greene in Waynesburg and worked formerly as a coal
miner. Joey also proudly served the Commonwealth of PA as a state constable.
He is a member of the Brownsville Bible Baptist Church.
Joey was a rifle sharpshooter and trainer with the CERT team at SCI Greene; a member of the Corrections Officer Association, the Fairbank Rod and Gun Club, and the American Legion Post# 423 Masontown.
On July 8, 1988 he married Morgan Sawyers, who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Ryan Marshall of Uniontown; a special niece that he and Morgan raised like their own daughter, Amy “Princess” Condupa; three brothers, William F. (Barbara) Marshall of Beallsville, Thomas (Debra) Marshall of Richeyville and Raymond (Roberta) Marshall of LaBelle; a sister, Yvonne Frank of Clarksville.
Deceased is a brother, David Marshall and a sister, Priscilla “Jean” Ball.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Tommy Dallas and Rev. Alfred Thompson Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps and the American Legion Post# 423.
