He was born September 10, 1944 in North Charleroi, PA, a son of the late Joseph Ross and Odessa Craig.
He was married to Cindy Eaton Teagarden for 25 years; she survives him. He worked at Gateway Mine until it closed, and also worked at Morgan Township, He was a member of the Masons Sunset Lodge No. 237 in Beallsville for 50 years and a past Master. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Coy Ross Malys (Ann); 4 stepchildren, Chad, John, and Jayme Teagarden, and Jennifer Burnfield; 2 siblings, Sandy Chidester (Ron) and Mark Ross (Kathy); 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 12 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Behm Funeral Home, 1477 Jefferson Rd., Jefferson, PA 15344, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 13 at 12 PM; burial to follow at Greene County Memorial Park.
