Lawrence Eugene Babinski

Lawrence Eugene Babinski, age 52 of Jefferson, died Saturday, September 10, 2011 unexpectedly after a brief illness at his home. He was born December 26, 1958 in Monessen, a son of Leonard and Irene Babinski of Monessen Lawrence worked as insurance adjuster for Chubb Insurance Group at the Pittsburgh division. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid Steelers fan. On September 21, 1991 he married Colleen Shashura who survives. Surviving in addition to his parents and his wife are his two daughters Lauren Sosnak of Washington and Emily Babinski of Jefferson; one sister Carol Konsugar of Belle Vernon, and two brothers, Tom Babinski of Belle Vernon, Lenny Babinski of Philadelphia and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in The Behm Funeral Homes, Inc., 1477 Jefferson Road, Jefferson, Gregory P. Rohanna, supervisor, where a blessing service will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Marcellus R.C. Church, Jefferson, with Fr. Francis Frazer as celebrant. Interment at St. Hyacinth Cemetery in Monessen will follow. Condolences may be expressed online at

I had the oppurtunity to work with Larry quite a bit when traveling for Chubb. He was the one that would light up the room with laughter when he arrived. I will miss out convesations and am deeply saddened by his passing.

I will alway remember when he was speaking of his family, he had that special voice and gleam in his eye.
